Dr. Steve Jirgal

Dr. Jirgal is a 1980 graduate of Gettysburg College where he became a four-time conference champion, All-American, and inductee to the Middle Atlantic Conference All Century Team in the pole vault. He holds an undergraduate degree in health education and physical education. Following graduation, he taught on the high school and college level while coaching football and track in both venues. He holds masters degrees in health education, sports medicine, and divinity, as well as a doctorate in ministry.

He has been the director of Sports Medicine at Wingate University, area director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has served on the staff of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and Lee Park Baptist Church. He also has been the senior pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church, Anderson Grove Baptist Church, and Community Baptist  Church. He has served on the local board of directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, New Orleans Baptist Seminary and the ministerial board of Wingate University. He currently serves on the board of directors for The Carolina Study Center, and Fathers in Touch ministry.

Dr. Jirgal is the founder and director of The Jirgal Leadership Institute where he strives to equip people for success in leadership roles. He and his wife Pam live in Monroe, N.C. and have three grown children, Joshua, Caleb, and Sarah.
